Cowanshannock Township

State police reported that a Ford Fusion driven by Nonna Randal, of Home, hit a tree along Route 85 near Sagamore Road at 3:58 p.m. Monday.

Randal, 55, was sent by medical helicopter to the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of a serious injury, according to troopers at Kittanning.

Young Township, Jefferson County

An SUV jumped the curb and struck a brick wall at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital on Tuesday, but state police said the driver wasn’t injured.

Troopers at the Punxsutawney barracks said that Barbara J. McConnaughey, 80, of Rossiter, attempted to enter a handicap parking space when her Honda CRV jumped the curb, struck two signs and shrubbery then the brick wall.

McConnaughey was given precautionary medical care at the hospital, police said.
