Apparent homicide investigated

HAMILTON — State police at Punxsutawney and the Jefferson County Coroner’s office are investigating an apparent homicide.

Police said the two agencies recovered the remains of a white male Sunday in the village of Hamilton, Perry Township, in Jefferson County.

Police were assisted at the crime scene by firefighters of the Punxsutawney Central Fire Department’s dive team and of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Police released no other details other than saying an investigation is continuing.
