Cops: drunken woman got in car with officers
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police have charged a woman with being so drunk that she tried to drive away in an unmarked police car — with two plainclothes officers still inside.
According to a criminal complaint, Ria Buford, 32, got into the car about 2:15 a.m. Saturday outside a nightclub that was hosting an after-party following the Wiz Khalifa concert.
Police say Buford got into the car, sat down, and told police she intended to drive the vehicle to where hers was parked. Police say a man intervened and will also be charged with resisting arrest. Police didn’t name the man because they say he refused to identify himself.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Buford, who faces a preliminary hearing Thursday on charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
