Domestic assault charges lodged
CLYMER — A Punxsutawney man was arrested Monday and formally charged in connection with a domestic assault reported July 20 at a residence along Route 119 in North Mahoning Township.
State troopers charged Lawrence August Jr., 47, with two counts of making terroristic threats and one count each of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, in a complaint filed before District Judge George Thachik in Clymer District Court.
State police at Punxsutawney launched a search for August last week after reporting that he had been accused of threatening Lori August, 40, of Vintondale, and a 15-year-old girl said to be his stepdaughter.
According to a news release, Lawrence August threw the teenager to the ground and kicked her, and that she required treatment for an injury at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Online court records do not reflect a bond arrangement or show a preliminary hearing date for August.
