Erie judge faces ethics allegations
HARRISBURG (AP) — An Erie County judge faces judicial ethics charges after an investigation turned up allegations she acted improperly on the bench and mishandled cases.
The Judicial Conduct Board on Monday filed charges against Erie Common Pleas Court Judge Stephanie Domitrovich that include violating behavioral standards for judges, failing to disqualify herself from certain cases and providing misleading and false answers to the board’s lawyers earlier this year.
Domitrovich’s lawyer called the accusations “devoid of merit.”
The board said it started an investigation after getting a request from the president judge in Erie.
The board is seeking to have Domitrovich suspended on an interim basis. She has about a month to file a written response.
Domitrovich has been a county judge since 1990.
