At least a dozen fire companies from Indiana and Westmoreland County responded, and several more were put on standby. As of 7 a.m., firefighters were still working to control the blaze. Multiple tank trucks were employed as water from hydrants in Homer City ran low.

The fire was first reported at 4:26 a.m.

Old Route 119 (Main Street) is closed in both directions in Homer City Borough between Miller Avenue and Mullen Avenue due to the fire. The road is expected to open late this morning.
