Fire guts house in Indiana
Volunteer firefighters from five Indiana County fire departments were activated beginning about 4 p.m. when a house was reported burning in Indiana's Fourth Ward.
Crews from Indiana, Clymer, Homer City and Cherryhill Township were among the first sent to the scene of the blaze at 1111 Chestnut Street.
Indiana County 911 dispatchers sent the Coral-Graceton fire company on a standby assignment.
There were no immediate report of injuries to responders or residents.
The first units arriving at the scene were reported to be working on preventing the flames from jumping to adjacent houses. Additional departments were called in to provide relief for firefighters working in high heat and humidity.
