William Pearce, 38, of Glen Campbell, was taken for preliminary arraignment on Aug. 6 before District Judge George Thachik and was briefly held at the Indiana County Jail until he posted $50,000 bond for his release, court records show.

A 33-year-old woman from Cherry Tree told police that Pearce forcibly sexually assaulted her in a parked vehicle on Aug. 2, and then made threats against her “via social media, etc.,” according to a police news release.

Troopers charged Pearce with felony counts of rape, aggravated assault and aggravated indecent assault, and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, indecent assault and simple assault.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Clymer District Court.
