HOMER CITY DISTRICT COURT DOCKET
Numerous defendants have been named on criminal charges filed in the Homer City district court before Magisterial District Judge Susanne Steffee.
Criminal complaints and affidavits of probable cause are not evidence of guilt in a criminal case. Defendants are entitled to legal representation and have the right to question the witnesses and evidence presented against them during preliminary hearings in the district court and at trials in the county court of common pleas.
Jennifer Marie Johnson, 31, of Birch Lane, Indiana, charged Oct. 25 by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia (a crack pipe, push rod and pill container), false identification to law enforcement and three summary violations during a traffic stop at 8:35 p.m. July 2 at Rustic Lodge and Indian Springs roads in White Township. Charges were held for Dec. 12.
Sasha Christin Brudnock, 20, of Snow Drift Lane, Indiana, charged Jan. 12 by state police with false alarms to agencies of public safety and penalty for making a false report of a medical emergency to 911 at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 4 at her residence in White Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 29.
John Edward Miller Jr., 24, of Berlin, Somerset County, charged Jan. 12 by state police with access device fraud, attempted access device fraud and theft Dec. 11 at Giant Eagle and Walmart in White Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 13.
Joshua Lee Helman, 28, of Route 85, Home, charged Jan. 13 by the state attorney general's office with acquisition of a controlled substance by fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge Aug. 17 at CVS in White Township. The charge was waived for court Jan. 23.
Benjamin C. Linn, 31, of Hammersmith Drive, Indiana, charged Jan. 18 by state police with three possession charges May 27 at his residence in White Township. Police reported that Linn sold 6.4 grams of marijuana to a confidential informant. A preliminary hearing is set for April 9.
Brianna Rashall Presto, 18, of Paradise Drive, Alverda, charged Jan. 18 by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:15 p.m. Nov. 16 at a residence along Whittier Drive in White Township. A preliminary hearing is set for April 9.
James Anthony McDaniel, 21, of Braughler Road, Rochester Mills, charged Jan. 23 by state police with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy Sept. 29 at a residence along Locust Road, North Mahoning Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 13.
Melissa Lynn Mocek, 32, of Church Street, Black Lick, charged Jan. 23 by state police with theft Jan. 23 at Walmart in White Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 6.
Johnathan Jeffrey Manning, 24, of Hoyt Drive, Indiana, charged Jan. 23 by state police with driving under the influence and three summary violations at 2:44 a.m. Nov. 12 at Acorn Street and West Point Circle White Township. His blood alcohol content measured 0.13 percent. A preliminary hearing date has not been set.
Adam Wayne Lowmaster, 28, of Route 422, Indiana, charged Jan. 23 by state police with theft 9:25 p.m. Nov. 28 at Walmart in White Township. A preliminary hearing is set for Monday.
Amanda Lynn Koffman, 28, of Indiana County Jail, charged Jan. 24 by state police with theft at 7:15 a.m. April 26, 2010, at Sheetz in Center Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 27.
Betty Jean Murdick, 48, of Oakridge Drive, Indiana, charged Jan. 26 by state police with DUI and two driving violations at 8:32 p.m. Nov. 11 on Warren Road in White Township. A blood test revealed traces of a barbiturate.
Justin Edward Thompson, 23, of Coalport, Clearfield County, charged Jan. 26 by state police with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property Nov. 14 to 21 at Waste Management in Center Township. Charges were waived for court Feb. 29.
Simple assault and harassment charges filed by Indiana Borough police against Steven Michael Japalucci, 31, of Eighth Street, Indiana, were dismissed Oct. 31.
