Indiana police arrest man on drug possession charges
A Pittsburgh man faces drug possession charges after police say they found him with a large quantity of heroin and some marijuana.
Indiana police reported Thursday that Djuan Williams, 34, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody at 7:37 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street on a warrant for receiving stolen property.
During an investigation, his vehicle, parked nearby, was seized and a search warrant was executed on the vehicle.
Police said that during the search, 335 bags of heroin and some marijuana were found in his vehicle.
Williams was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Indiana County Jail on $25,000 bail.
Sgt. Anthony Clement, a detective in the Indiana police department and a field supervisor of the Indiana County Drug Task Force, said the seized heroin could have a street value of between $3,600 and $5,025.
