MURRYSVILLE — A man from Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County, died of injuries in a one-vehicle crash about 10:52 p.m. Wednesday on Route 22.

Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha identified the victim as Brian Spoly, 21, of El Rico Street.

Bacha said Spoly was driving west when his vehicle ran off the highway and hit a utility pole.

Spoly was not wearing a seat belt, according to the coroner, who listed the cause of death as blunt force injuries to the victim’s head, neck and chest.

A passenger in the car was also injured and taken to Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. A spokeswoman for the Murrysville Police Department said this morning the department has not yet released the identity of the injured passenger.
