Man killed in ATV fall
CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP — A Mineral Point man was killed over the weekend when the all-terrain vehicle he was driving plunged off an abandoned railroad bridge into Williams Run Creek, state police reported.
Paul Joel Taylor, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the ATV, Briana Fox, 22, of Johnstown, was sent to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, according to troopers at Ebensburg.
Investigators reported the ATV went over the side of the bridge between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Saturday, hit a stone retaining wall and landed in the creek, just south of Route 422 near Revloc, Cambria County.
Taylor used neither a seat belt nor a helmet, and suffered a head injury, according to police.
Fox used a seat belt but no helmet.
A hospital spokeswoman said Fox was in fair condition this morning.
