The Indiana County Coroner’s Office and state police at Indiana identified the woman killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Blacklick Township as Kelly Jo Pape, of 8549 Route 217 North, Blairsville.

Pape, according to the coroner’s office, was 40. Police listed her age as 67.

Police said Pape was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by James Seelig, 29, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., that hit a deer about 8:27 p.m. Sunday on Route 217.

Seelig and Pape were both thrown from the motorcycle in the collision.

Chief Deputy Coroner Jerry Overman pronounced Pape dead at the scene, although her identity was not known until Monday.

Seelig was taken to Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, where a spokeswoman Monday said he was in critical condition.
