Pennsylvania judge throws out cookie case
PENNDEL (AP) — The case may have crumbled against two people accused of stealing cookies and other items from a church’s Alcoholics Anonymous program.
The Bucks County Courier Times reported a district judge in Penndel on Wednesday dismissed burglary, theft and other charges against Michael Scuderi, 38, and Leah Cappella, 52, for the May 2 incident.
Initially, police said Cappella confessed and handed over Oreos and other items, and a search of Scuderi’s home turned up two coffee containers believed to be church property.
The newspaper reported that it’s not clear whether the charges would be refiled.
