Police arrest man with suspected heroin
A Pittsburgh-area man was arrested on suspicion of narcotics violations about noon Monday in the Second Ward, Indiana Borough police reported.
Officers took the suspect into custody while monitoring activity near 550 S. Sixth St., where police had been alerted to ongoing suspicious activity, according to a news release.
Investigators approached the man when they believed a drug transaction was taking place, chased the suspect and captured him a short distance away.
Police recovered about 20 bags of heroin that the man discarded during the chase and found a large amount of cash in his possession, police reported.
