Indiana: Arson

Someone started a fire in a roll of carpet in the rear parking lot at 962 Philadelphia St. at about 6 a.m. today. Indiana police said whoever started the fire then fled from the scene.

Anyone with information on the arson incident is asked to call the Indiana police at (724) 349-2121.

Public drunkenness

Indiana police observed Marni Lentz, 21, of Indiana, highly intoxicated in the 400 block of Philadelphia Street at 1:56 a.m. Sunday.

She was arrested for public drunkenness and later was released to a sober adult.

Cherryhill Township

Money stolen

State police at Indiana are investigating an incident of access device fraud in which two unauthorized withdrawals were made from a checking account held by the Penns Manor Cheerleaders Parents Group.

Police said $221.80 was taken from the account between July 13 and Thursday.

Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County


Roger Weimer, of Saltsburg, told state police at the Kiski Valley station that someone entered his residence at 305 Tunnelton Road and took his debit card, then used the card at multiple locations.

The theft happened between 7:30 and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Weimer said there was no evidence of forced entry into his home.

Rayne Township


State police at Indiana are investigating a harassment incident that happened at 5 p.m. Saturday at 83 Holly St.

Police said Charles Anderson, 77, of Indiana, approached John Bradley, 60, of Indiana, with a pair of pruning shears in a threatening manner.

White Township

Trailer stolen

A 7-by-12-foot white utility box trailer, owned by Shoenfelt Construction, of Homer City, was stolen from a construction site at 124 Huckleberry Road between Friday and Sunday.

State police at Indiana said the trailer is valued at $4,700, and inside there were various tools valued at $3,000.

The trailer has Pennsylvania registration XFP6934.

Drug possession

State police at Indiana made a traffic stop of a vehicle at Warren Road and Laurel Street at 1 a.m. today and a passenger, identified only as an 18-year-old female from Indiana, had drug paraphernalia in her possession.

Center Township

Simple assault

A 24-year-old female from Homer City suffered minor injuries during a domestic assault at 11 p.m. Friday at 2842 Old Route 119 South, according to state police at Indiana.

Police arrested Robert Ayres, 30, of Homer City, and charged him with simple assault.
