INDIANA - Man jailed:: Tyrone Smith, 19, of Philadelphia, was held Thursday in Indiana County Jail after Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus police charged him with a misdemeanor count of trespassing.

Investigators reported Smith trespassed at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday in the Northern Suites dormitory.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday in Indiana district court.

Narcotics charges

Seth Stahl, 19, of Ridgway, Elk County, was charged Monday by Indiana Borough police with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, public urination and underage drinking at 1:21 a.m. Sunday on the 700 block of Klondyke Avenue.

Ryan Lasher, 21, of Dayton, Armstrong County, was charged by borough police on Monday with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness at 2:20 a.m. Sunday on South 11th Street near Philadelphia Street.

Men cited

Daniel Wyers, 28, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., was cited by borough police on Tuesday with tampering with a parking boot that had been affixed to his vehicle at 10:41 a.m. Nov. 1 on the 900 block of Church Street.

Indiana Borough police cited Shawn Kelly, 25, of Pittsburgh, with public urination at 12:17 a.m. Sunday on the 400 block of South Seventh Street.

Kevin Simon, 20, of Pittsburgh, was cited by borough police on Tuesday with a summary count of carrying false identification in connection with a traffic stop at 6:40 p.m. Nov. 1 on North Sixth Street near Philadelphia Street.

Campus vandalism

Someone wrote graffiti in a men's restroom on the first floor of Stapleton Library, IUP police reported. The damage was discovered at 7:23 a.m. Thursday. No estimate of the damage was given.



Ronda Detwiler, 34, of Clune, was charged Nov. 1 by state police at Indiana with retail theft and theft by deception.

Investigators reported Detwiler stole a Weed Eater lawn trimmer valued at $72.05 from Walmart at SouthTowne Plaza at 8:40 p.m. Oct. 24, then returned the trimmer 17 minutes later to the service desk in exchange for a Walmart gift card.

District Judge Susanne Steffee scheduled a preliminary hearing for Dec. 12.



Businesses burglarized

Intruders broke into two businesses along Route 410 between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, according to state police.

Enos Miller, of Punxsutawney, owner of E&S Horse Supply, told investigators that someone pried open the front door of his shop and stole four pairs of boots valued at $423.

Jonas Kurtz, also of Punxsutawney, reported $100 cash was stolen from Kurtz's Whole Foods store after someone removed a screen from a window and reached through to unlock a door.

Statutory assault

Patrick Fyock Jr., 23, of Vintondale, was charged Tuesday by state police at Ebensburg with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault. Investigators alleged that Fyock had consensual sex with a 14-year-old girl between Aug. 10 and 24 in a state game land in the township.

Fyock was released on unsecured bond to await action in the Mineral Point district court.



State police at Kiski Valley charged Daryl Radaker, 58, of Saltsburg, with driving under the influence and three summary traffic infractions following a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 17 on Tunnelton Road near Pump Station Road.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 28 in the Apollo district court.
