Someone stole a scrapped orange New Idea hay mower belonging to Dennis Bence from a wooded farm area near Twinbrook Road on Wednesday, then sold it to Iron Horse Scrap Yard, state police in Indiana reported. Police said the mower was recovered.


Criminal mischief

Indiana Borough police reported someone used spray paint to write derogatory words and ethnic symbols on several items in the 600 and 800 blocks of Croyland Avenue between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. During the same time frame, the owner of a silver F-150 pickup truck told police someone spray painted the driver’s side of the truck while it was parked in the 600 block of Shryock Avenue.

Drug charges

Jonathan Clark Gibbons, 19, of Indiana, was cited by Indiana University of Pennsylvania police with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance around 11:14 p.m. April 18 in Putt Hall.



Retail theft

Indiana Borough police reported a woman stole BioFreeze and a spinal support brace from Evidence Based Chiropractic in the R&P Building around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the woman was in her 40s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, was white with curly dirty-blond shoulder-length hair and was wearing light-colored sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

She left in an older gray vehicle, according to police.




Indiana Borough police reported someone damaged the driver’s side mirrors on a tan Pontiac and a silver Honda parked in the 300 block of South Fifth Street between 11 p.m. and midnight Tuesday.

Police believe the mirrors were hit by a passing vehicle.

Underage drinking

Dylan R. George, 20, of Homer City, was cited with underage drinking and public drunkenness around 12:15 a.m. April 2 on Pratt drive at Wallwork Hall, IUP police reported Sunday.

The charges were filed Monday.



Identity theft

Nichole Cherry, 35, of Indiana, reported someone used her identity to make changes to her auto insurance without her permission March 18, state police in Indiana reported Thursday.




Criminal mischief

Someone threw a rock through the front window of a closed business at 8651 Route 22 between Feb. 19 and Saturday, state police in Greensburg reported.
