Man jailed

Indiana Borough police reported that Kevin Desmarais, 20, of Hancock, Md., struggled with police and was restrained with oleoresin-capsicum spray at 3:32 a.m. Saturday when officers tried to arrest him for carrying an open container of alcohol in the parking lot of Giant Eagle Express, 435 S. Seventh Street.

Desmarais was lodged at the Indiana County Jail. No record of charges against Desmarais appeared on the court website.


Burglaries probed

Two residents of the 300 block of South 13th Street told Indiana Borough police that strangers entered their homes and stole their property between 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Investigators did not release the names of the people who filed the reports, or give a description of the stolen goods.


Woman detained

Melissa McCorkle, of Pittsburgh, was held at the county jail after being accused of involvement in a domestic dispute at 10:26 a.m. Saturday in an apartment along Oakland Avenue between 11th and Grant streets, according to Indiana Borough police. No record of charges against McCorkle appeared on the court website.

The name of the person who accused her was not released.
