Narcotics investigation

A 30-year-old man was found unresponsive in the Oakland-Rooney apartment building along South 13th Street Extension at 11:45 a.m. Thursday and was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of a suspected drug overdose, state police reported today.

Troopers reported the man is a student at Wyoming Technical Institute, Burrell Township.

They did not release his age, address, or details of his medical condition.

Investigators found 20 stamp bags, some of them containing heroin, in the man’s room, according to the report. An investigation continues, police said.

Fire investigation

Police at Indiana University of Pennsylvania asked anyone with information about a fire that destroyed a sport utility vehicle on campus to contact the campus safety office.

A 2004 Buick Rendezvous SUV was found ablaze about 10 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot on the campus between Keith Hall and the Hadley Union Building.

Indiana volunteer firefighters extinguished the fire.
