An intruder stole collectible toys belonging to James Palko, of Derry, between March 22 and June 10 from a storage unit along Coles Way, state police at Greensburg reported.

No description of the stolen property was provided.


Kittanning Township, Armstrong County

Road rage reported

State police reported a 52-year-old Kittanning man faces aggravated assault charges stemming from a “road rage incident” at 4:04 p.m. Saturday on Route 422.

Shawn McGaughey, 41, and Shelby McGaughey, 51, both of Shelocta, told police that the Kittanning man forced their vehicle off the highway as they traveled near Cornish Road. Troopers at Kittanning closed the highway for several hours while the site was investigated as a crime scene, according to a news release.

Police withheld the suspect’s name and reported charges have yet to be filed.


Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County


Nicole Inks, 30, of Derry, was charged June 10 by state police with a felony count of retail theft related to a shoplifting investigation at Walmart, troopers at Greensburg reported today.

According to a report, Inks concealed 63 pieces of jewelry valued at $2,018 and left the store without paying for the merchandise at 3:35 a.m. May 24.

Inks was held at Westmoreland County jail when she was unable to post $15,000 bond.
