Two Cambria County women were incarcerated at the Indiana County Jail after being caught attempting to steal merchandise at 5:28 p.m. July 20 from the Walmart store at SouthTowne Plaza, according to state police.
In a news release issued Thursday, troopers at Indiana reported both Amber Renee Plummer, 27, of South Fork, and Patricia Ally Barberich, 23, of Beaverdale, had also stolen goods from Walmart stores in neighboring counties.
Both were charged with three counts each of retail theft and attempted retail theft; Barberich also was charged with three counts each of furnishing authorities with information without knowledge and providing false identification to law enforcement. The charges against Plummer were filed as felonies; all the charges against Barberich are misdemeanors. Bail for each was set at $20,000 and both are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Aug. 14 in the Blairsville district court.
Richard Louttit, 51, of Old William Penn Highway, Blairsville, was cited by state police with summary counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following a disturbance at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday on Villa Road.
David Beam, of Blairsville, reported to state police that someone stole a Ruger 9-mm pistol from his vehicle between Monday and Friday. Beam traveled between the Blairsville area and the Pittsburgh Raceway during those days, according to troopers at Indiana.
State police reported that someone broke a side window of a vehicle owned by Barbara Jean McKendrick between 3 and 7:45 p.m. Friday on Iselin Road.
Someone stole a clutch hand wallet belonging to Cynthia Toman, of Carrolltown, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday somewhere in the Cherry Tree area, state police at Indiana reported.
Derry Township, Westmoreland County
Vaughn Kopetsky, of Loyalhanna, told state police that someone stole several guns, an Apple iPad Mini and $1,500 from his residence along Latrobe-Derry Road between 4:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on July 18.
