State police at Indiana are investigating repeated telephone calls to the Sheetz store at 525 Ben Franklin Road South.

Police said the calls began Tuesday. During the phone conversations with Sheetz employees, suspects made threats of violence.

Anyone with information on the threats is asked to contact the state police at (724) 357-1960.


Alcohol violations

Indiana police saw a male passed out in front of the Sheetz store at 380 Philadelphia St. at 12:40 a.m. Sunday. The man was identified as Silas Garcia, of Indiana.

During the police investigation, a female who was with Garcia was also located and she passed out. She was identified as Kendal Unger, also of Indiana.

Garcia and Unger were arrested for public drunkenness and placed in the Indiana County Jail.

A pedestrian stopped passing Indiana police officers to report an intoxicated male along the 100 block of South Eighth Street at 8:38 p.m. on Oct. 5.

Police found Dayne Foley, 18, of Exton, highly intoxicated and vomiting on himself. He was arrested for public drunkenness and underage drinking. He was placed in the county jail on a temporary detainer.

Indiana police said Patrick Rossiter, 21, of Pittsburgh, was highly intoxicated along the 700 block of Washington Street at 10:50 p.m. Oct. 5.

He was arrested for public drunkenness and released to a sober adult.

Dallas Sweezy, 25, of Centreville, Va., was arrested by Indiana police along the 700 block of Washington Street at 12:51 a.m. Oct. 5 after he was found intoxicated and refused to leave the roadway.

Sweezy was cited for public drunkenness and was released to a sober adult, police said.

Indiana police were dispatched to the Giant Eagle Express along South Seventh Street for a report of a shoplifter at 11:42 p.m. Oct. 5.

Police said Alexander Sontag, 20, of Hummelstown, had been detained by a store security officer.

Sontag was arrested for retail theft, public drunkenness and underage drinking after trying to take a sandwich from the store, police said.

Marijuana arrest

Indiana University of Pennsylvania police arrested Prince Amoakohene, 21, of Pittsburgh, at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 4 along Pratt Drive.

Police said Amoakohene was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.


IUP officers were called to the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at 9:31 p.m. on Oct. 3 for a report of a fight on the arena floor.

After a brief investigation, police charged Mario Sanders, 20, of Erie, with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment,

public drunkenness and underage drinking in connection with an assault that occurred during the fight.

Criminal mischief

Indiana police said someone rummaged through the contents of an unlocked vehicle parked along the 900 block of Nixon Avenue.

Police said the incident happened Saturday or Sunday.



Someone stole the tracks for a skid loader and steel pipes from 1216 Valley Road on Thursday or Friday, according to state police at Indiana.

Police did not identify the victim of the theft.
