Center Township

Car stolen

Marlin Lawson, 61, of Homer City, left the engine of his car running and the keys in the ignition when he went into the Sheetz store along Route 119 at 3 a.m. Thursday.

When he came out of the store, his car was gone.

State police at Indiana described the missing vehicle as a two-door, sky blue Mercury Cougar with Pennsylvania registration JHW 5200.




State police at Indiana said a bag of cash was stolen from a safe in the rear office of Benamati’s grocery store, 414 Indiana Road.

Police said the money was taken at about 6 a.m. Thursday.


Burrell Township


Someone removed a dealer’s registration plate from a vehicle parked in the Haines Auto Sales lot.

State police at Indiana said the plate was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday.


Gaskill Township, Jefferson County

Retail theft

State police at Punxsutawney are investigating a theft at 3:16 p.m. Monday at Yoder’s Antique Mall along Route 36.

Police said someone forcibly entered a jewelry counter leased to Doris Pressley, of Indiana, and stole a gold coin valued at $425.


Derry Township, Westmoreland County


State police at Indiana said property belonging to the Norfolk Southern Railroad was stolen Nov. 8.

No description of the missing property was given.

State police are being assisted in the investigation by Norfolk Southern Railroad police.
