Someone driving a dark-colored sedan struck the rear bumper of a vehicle in the first block of North Fourth Street Sunday evening, according to borough police. The driver of the sedan fled on Philadelphia Street, police said.
EAST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP
An undisclosed amount of copper wire was stolen from Millcreek Processing sometime between 3 p.m. Nov. 29 and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to state police in Indiana.
State police in Indiana said they have charged Debbie Ann Maluchnik, 48, of Johnstown, with possession of contraband, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
Police said Maluchnik arrived at SCI Pine Grove on Nov. 20 to visit an inmate. A corrections officer conducted a drug interdiction search of Maluchnik’s vehicle and allegedly found a knife, drugs and drug paraphernalia in her purse, police said.
Theft from vehicle
Prescription medication belonging to Victor Bucco, 74, of Clarksburg, was stolen from his unlocked vehicle on Nov. 20 while it was parked at Valeski’s Fourth Street Bi-Lo, according to state police in Indiana.
DERRY TOWNSHIP, WESTMORELAND COUNTY
Chad McIntire, 23, of Blairsville, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident Friday night at 196 Livermore Road, according to state police at the Kiski Valley station. Police said McIntire had been arguing with Megan Elko, 24, of Latrobe, throughout the night, and when Elko tried to leave, McIntire threw a snowball at her.
Elko then threatened to knock over McIntire’s motorcycle. McIntire put Elko in a chokehold and held it until she passed out, police said. When McIntire let go, Elko fell on her face and suffered an injury, police said.
McIntire was taken into custody and placed in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond.
