Burrell Township


Someone stole a homemade sign reading “Oaks Point Road” on either Friday or Saturday at the intersection of Oaks Point and Strangford roads, according to state police at Indiana.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (724) 357-1960.

Center Township


Two men stole a .270 Winchester rifle and a .38-caliber Charter Arms revolver belonging to Daniel Barnicle, 61, of Indiana, around 2 p.m. Dec. 14 from a location on Second Street, according to state police at Indiana.

No further information was provided. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Bolivar Borough, Westmoreland County


State police at Greensburg reported that in two separate incidents, someone stole vehicle batteries on either Jan. 13 or 14 from vehicles and garages on Walnut and Lincoln streets.

According to police, someone removed the battery from the engine compartment of a Toyota truck belonging to Richard McAdams, 44, of 700 Lincoln St., while it was parked in an alley behind his home.

In addition, police said, someone stole a battery from a Ford Ranger belonging to Darrell Betts, 61, of 900 Walnut St., as well as another car battery, a lawn mower battery, two ATV batteries and a container with 5 gallons of gas.

No additional information was available.
