Underage drinking

Jacob McKita, 19, of Donora, Washington County, was charged by Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus police with underage drinking, public drunkenness and criminal trespass at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 7 in the Delaney Hall dormitory on the campus, according to police.

Online court records show McKita pleaded guilty to the charges on Tuesday in Indiana District Court and was assessed $788 in fines and court costs.

IUP campus police cited Ashley McCann, 20, of Findlay, Ohio, with underage drinking and public drunkenness during a concert at Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at 9:34 p.m. Feb. 12, according to reports.

McCann pleaded guilty to the charges Tuesday and was ordered to pay $614.50 in fines and costs, online court records show.


Drug offenses

Police at IUP charged Zhafiq Holmes, 19, of Philadelphia, on Feb. 7 with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, underage drinking and three summary traffic offenses stemming from a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. Jan. 31 on the 900 block of Maple Street. A hearing date has not been scheduled.


DUI charges

IUP campus police charged Phillip Swiklinski, 22, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, on Feb. 12 with driving under the influence and four summary traffic charges in connection with a traffic stop at 1:04 a.m. Jan. 1 on the campus.

Eric Valles, 18, of Pittsburgh, was charged by IUP campus police with DUI, underage drinking and two traffic violations following a traffic stop at 2:19 a.m. Jan. 24 on Oakland Avenue at South 10th Street. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 6.
