Theft by deception

State police at Indiana are investigating a theft by deception incident that started in October at the Kinport Assembly of God Church in Cherry Tree.

Police said Stephen Longstreth, 43, of Pittsburgh, who claims to run a business buying and selling vehicles, entered into an agreement with the church in October for two transport vans for the price of $20,000. The vans were to be delivered on Nov. 1, but police said Longstreth delayed the delivery with various excuses and the vehicles have not been delivered.

Police said Longstreth may be in the Pittsburgh area. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He has additional outstanding warrants in Pennsylvania and Virginia, according to police.


Drug violations

Indiana University of Pennsylvania police said Donta Lewis, 19, of Abington, had illegal drugs and paraphernalia in his possession at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday in the Suites on Pratt. Police said he was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Campus police said they charged Raymond Cunningham, 21, of North Potomac, Md., with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers encountered Cunningham at 2:48 a.m. Sunday at 950 Maple St.


IUP police are investigating the theft of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet from Foster Dining Hall Feb. 10.

Police said the tablet is gray and had a black case.
