Someone pilfered furniture between Feb. 10 and March 21 from the African American Cultural Center in Delaney Hall, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, campus police reported Friday.

A gold and tan sofa, a cherry table and an oak end table were reported to be missing.

Police gave no estimate of the loss.


Hit and run

Campus police reported the driver of a blue Ford Mustang fled at 6:09 p.m. Thursday after hitting a car in the IUP parking garage along Oakland Avenue.

The hit-and-run car is believed to be a 2003 to 2005 model, with aftermarket white and chrome taillights, and the characters JLF on the license plate.

Police described the driver as a white man with long blond hair and thick black framed glasses, who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s.

East Wheatfield Township


State police reported someone smashed two windows of truck tractor owned by Stivason & Sons, of Avonmore, Westmoreland County, between 4 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Friday while it was parked along Route 22 near Route 403.

The suspect then stole a Connex 4300 citizens band radio worth $450 and a Road King RK 56 CB microphone valued at $60 belonging to William Snedden, of Nanty Glo, Cambria County, from the cab.

Elderton, Armstrong County


Officials of West Penn Energy told state police that someone stole $4,000 worth of property from the company’s trucks between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 5:40 a.m. Friday while they were parked on West Penn property along Route 210.

Missing goods include 1,600 feet of copper welding cable, eight electrode holders and eight 300-amp grounds, valued at $4,003.28, troopers at Kittanning reported.
