State police at Indiana charged Raymond Erwin, 44, of Armagh, with theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud.
Police said a victim, identified only as a 31-year-old woman from Indiana, dropped her wallet while shopping in Walmart on March 3.
Police said the store’s security cameras recorded Erwin picking up the wallet and taking it into a restroom at the front of the store. The empty wallet was later found there by a Walmart employee.
Police said Erwin used a credit card issued to the female victim in four transactions at another location. In total, Erwin is responsible for $1,071.78 worth of stolen U.S. currency, gift cards and fraudulent purchases, according to police.
