Police: Paraplegic shoots brother
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities in Philadelphia say a man who is partially paralyzed fatally shot his brother during a family dispute.
Police say the 34-year-old paraplegic, who was not named, fired the gun as his older brother John Mapp allegedly assaulted their sister.
The shooting took place early Sunday in west Philadelphia as Mapp and the sister argued over an undisclosed matter.
Police say Mapp then charged at the paralyzed man, who shot him in the chest.
The 40-year-old victim later died at a hospital. The sister was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Police continue to investigate. No charges had been filed as of Sunday afternoon.
