Police report area incidents
Darius Spinks, 19, of Washington, Washington County, struck and injured a paramedic while being evaluated in the Maple East dormitory at Indiana University of Pennsylvania at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, campus police reported.
Investigators charged Spinks with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in a criminal complaint filed at Indiana District Court.
Spinks was released on unsecured bond following preliminary arraignment on Thursday, and is scheduled to appear Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Police at Indiana University of Pennsylvania charged Logan Milhimes, 18, of Gettysburg, Adams County; Zachery Ott, 18, of Fairfield, Adams County; Mary Romeo, 18, of York, York County; and Kayla Rummel, 18, of Bainbridge, Lancaster County, with six counts each of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police discovered the contraband at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 28 during an investigation of a fire alarm in the Maple East dormitory, according to a news release.
Kevin Thimm, 19, of West Chester, Chester County, was cited on Oct. 28 by campus police with underage drinking and public drunkenness at 9:18 p.m. Oct. 25 on Pratt Drive at Maple Street.
Thimm required treatment at Indiana Regional Medical Center, police reported.
An intruder broke into a house and garage owned by Gerald Rupert, 920 Poulos Road, and stole a black Craftsman took box, four chrome Mustang tire rims and other property with a total value of $1,600, state police reported.
The break-in occurred between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Bell Township, Westmoreland County
Pennsylvania license plate XGX-1015 was stolen from the interior of a pickup truck owned by the Holt family, of Apollo, between Aug. 17 and Friday while the truck was parked on Second Street in the village of Truxall, state police at Kiski Valley reported.
