Police statistics released
Area law enforcement agencies have released the following reports of activity during the past month:
Liquor Control Enforcement
Agents of the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement district office received 49 complaints and made 129 visits to licensed establishments in May, according to a monthly activity report.
Sgt. Shawn Fischer, commander of the District 7 office in Punxsutawney, reported that agents conducted age compliance checks at three establishments last month and found one that sold alcohol to an underage buyer under surveillance.
The office issued six administrative citations and 14 warnings for liquor law violations and arrested one minor for underage drinking.
The office enforces Pennsylvania’s liquor code in nine north-central counties including Indiana, Armstrong, Jefferson and Clearfield counties.
Police in Saltsburg responded to 21 incidents in May, according to a monthly activity report issued to the borough council.
The report shows officers were assigned to 46 work shifts during the month. They issued three traffic citations and five summary non-traffic citations, and investigated one traffic accident.
The department also issued notices of violation of local ordinances to nine property owners for cutting grass and three owners of alleged dangerous buildings.
