A house fire in Clearfield County has been ruled an accident, and the cause of another in White Township remains undetermined, according to state police fire marshals.

The first of the two fires occurred around 7:15 p.m. Feb. 3 in a garage at the home of James O’Hara, of Muller Road. Police said they don’t suspect criminal activity, but could not definitively rule out the possibility.

The other fire occurred around 6:40 a.m. Friday at 667 Bethlehem Road, Mahaffey Borough. Police said the fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage. One of the home’s residents, Loren M. Heinz, was home at the time and fled when she discovered flames in the home’s basement. She escaped without injury, police said.
