State police release report

APOLLO — State police at the Kiski Valley station in Armstrong County responded to 615 incidents in June, according to a monthly activity report.

Highway patrol officers arrested 15 people for driving under the influence last month and attributed four traffic crashes to the use of alcohol.

In all, troopers responded to 24 accidents that resulted in injuries to 10 people.

Troopers at Kiski Valley cover the southeastern section of Armstrong County and the northwestern section of Westmoreland County. On the area highways, police issued 541 citations, including 23 for seat belt violations, and gave out 39 warnings. Troopers inspected 33 commercial motor vehicles and assisted 27 motorists.

In the criminal investigations division, the Kiski Valley station received 70 reports of offenses, cleared 43 cases and arrested 39 people, according to Sgt. Ryan Maher, the station commander.
