Suspect named in shooting
State police continued a search this morning for a White Township man accused of shooting another during a confrontation early Thursday at an apartment complex just outside Indiana.
The subject of the search is Eagan Minich, who is wanted on one count of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault, according to court papers filed late Thursday afternoon by troopers at Indiana.
Troopers charge that Minich, 29, assaulted Hayden Warmke just after 2 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot at Maple Town Houses, 565 Maple St., after they arrived there in separate vehicles.
Minich punched Warmke’s face several times, knocked him to the ground, punched him again, then shot Warmke’s leg with a handgun and drove away, police said.
Troopers withheld the victim’s name Thursday, until identifying him in the charging documents filed against Minich.
Investigators reported Minich’s companion played a key role in leading police to file charges.
