JOHNSTOWN (AP) — Police say a quick-changing robbery suspect wasn’t quick enough to elude two customers of the western Pennsylvania credit union he had just robbed.

City police Detective Thomas Owens told The (Johnstown) Tribune-Democrat that Tyler Reed, 25, began shedding his clothes, including some items used to disguise his appearance, as he ran away from the USSCO Federal Credit Union on Tuesday.

Reed allegedly entered the credit union claiming to have a knife, but not displaying one, before taking cash from a teller and running.

One credit union customer started chasing Reed and was joined by another he saw along the way. Both caught up to Reed and held him until police arrived.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Reed, who remained in the Cambria County Prison on Wednesday. Authorities believe he was homeless.
