Teen charged in fatal crash
ERIE (AP) — A 15-year-old girl has been charged with involuntary man-slaughter and homicide by vehicle in a northwestern Pennsylvania crash that killed an 8-year-old boy and wounded three other people, but authorities say the case will be handled in juvenile court.
The Erie Times-News reported that other charges filed in Erie County include aggravated assault, reckless endangering and accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed.
Police in Erie said the girl was driving a car that went out of control in the city’s east side Aug. 13, killing 8-year-old Emir Zilkic.
District Attorney Jack Daneri said an “exhaustive investigation” including an accident reconstruction and numerous interviews led to the charges.
