Trial begins in barber’s death
STROUDSBURG (AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania barber is on trial for homicide and other charges in the beating death of another barber who worked in the same shop.
The trial of Shawn Develvet, 48, of Tobyhanna, got under way Tuesday in Monroe County.
Last May, police responding to a report of a fight at the Stylez Barber Shop in Coolbaugh Township found Quentin Thomas, 34, badly beaten and sitting in a chair. He was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
The defense is arguing that Thomas’ death was caused by pre-existing medical issues and that he was the one who started the fight.
