Two charged in White Township break-in
State police have charged two men with breaking into a White Township house and stealing about $1.200 worth of property on Saturday or Sunday.
James Valenti Jr., 36, of Indiana, and Christopher Slater, 34, of Homer City, have each been charged with felony counts of burglary and conspiracy, and misdemeanor counts of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Troopers charged that the men forced their way into the residence of Betty Britsky at 297 Indian Springs Road and stole a jug full of change and a laptop computer. Online court records show Valenti was arrested Sunday and lodged at Indiana County Jail when he was unable to post $30,000 bond. District Judge George Thachik scheduled a preliminary hearing for Aug. 12 in Clymer District Court.
Police filed a criminal complaint against Slater on Monday in the Clymer court.
