Homer City firefighters were summoned late Monday afternoon to a home at 88 1/2 Juniper St., where a vehicle crashed into the rear porch and a kitchen.

According to Homer City Fire Chief Joe Iezzi, the driver, who was not identified, suffered a medical problem while behind the wheel.

His vehicle went off Lincoln Street in Homer City around 4:10 p.m. and crashed through a fence and a shed before crashing into the home of Joewan Brubaker.

“It sounded like an explosion. The whole house shook,” Brubaker said.

Iezzi said the driver was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center and from there was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
