Woman sentenced on weapons charge
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The mother of a western Pennsylvania man serving a life term in a shooting that killed one man and injured two others has been sentenced to two to six years in prison on a conviction of having provided him with the weapon.
Prosecutors in Allegheny County said Gloria Mazzocco, 61, of Imperial knew that David Mazzocco, 26, wasn’t allowed to have a gun because of his mental problems but transferred two handguns to him anyway. Police said he told his mother that someone wanted to buy the guns.
David Mazzocco was convicted of first-degree murder in the March 2013 shootings inside the Fort Pitt Inn that killed 29-year-old karaoke DJ James Adams.
