Center Township


Victor Preston, of Lucernemines, was charged early Sunday with simple assault, making terroristic threats and harassment stemming from a domestic dispute at 8:25 p.m. Saturday on 11th Street, state police reported.

Preston, 26, was released on unsecured bond to await a preliminary hearing set for July 14.

Police withheld the name of a 27-year-old Lucernemines woman who reported the incident.

White Township

Drugs found

A Commodore man, 35, faces charges after being found with crystal methamphetamine and heroin in his possession during a traffic stop at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday on Old Route 110, state police reported. Charges have not yet been filed.

East Wheatfield Township

Drug violation

State police discovered suspected marijuana and paraphernalia in a vehicle during a traffic stop at 9:28 a.m. June 17 on Route 56 at Route 711, according to a report. The driver, a 31-year-old Johnstown man, has not yet been charged.

Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County

Drug offense

Devin Taylor, 52, of Yatesboro, was charged today with possession of drug paraphernalia, two summary traffic offenses, and a misdemeanor count of being a habitual offender, in a criminal complaint filed at Rural Valley District Court.

State police at Kittanning discovered unspecified contraband in Taylor’s vehicle during a traffic stop at 9:23 a.m. June 4 on State Route 1028 at Sgros Road, according to a report.

Derry Township, Westmoreland County


A 25-year-old Derry man told state police that he was beaten by several men at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 852 Georgina Drive.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries, troopers reported. Investigators from the Kiski Valley station near Avonmore asked anyone with information about the incident to call telephone (724) 697-5780.


An 18-year-old Spring Church man reported to authorities that a Blairsville woman, 39, hit his face at 9 p.m. Saturday at Pittsburgh Raceway. State police at Kiski Valley gave no other details.

Troopers reported that a 36-year-old Torrance man would be cited with a summary count of harassment in connection with a domestic dispute at 7:28 a.m. Saturday at 136 State Route 1033. Police withheld the suspect’s name and that of a 35-year-old woman who accused him.

Burnside Township, Clearfield County


Someone used personal information of a Westover woman to open a PayPal account and spent several hundred dollars of her money on purchases from April 29 to June 19, state police at Punxsutawney reported.

Big Run, Jefferson County


Jeremy Spiers, 30, of Punxsutawney, was cited June 15 with a summary count of harassment arising from a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation at 5 p.m. June 2 on West Main Street. Police withheld the name of a Big Run woman, 30, who raised the allegations.
