Indiana Borough police investigated an individual’s report that a black man with short hair twice stole property last week on the 1100 block of Grant Street.

Police were told that the man wore an all black hooded sweatsuit with red lettering on Nov. 25 between 9:40 and 9:53 p.m. when he took some loose change.

The suspect wore a tan coat, black sweat pants, a hooded black sweatshirt and a pair of black New Balance shoes with a white “N” insignia on Saturday between 9:40 and 9:48 p.m. when he took a silver watch.

Police withheld the name of the person who reported the thefts.

False ID

Borough police cited Cooper Babcock, of Athens, Bradford County, with carrying false identification in papers filed Nov. 25 at Indiana District Court.

Officers encountered Babcock, 20, during an investigation of a noise complaint at 1:10 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 600 block of School Street, according to a report.

White Township


Patrick Palmer, of Murrysville, Westmoreland County, is being sought by state police in connection with the theft of a DeWalt brand miter saw from Lowe’s Home Improvement store at Townfair Center along South Ben Franklin Road.

Troopers at Indiana said Palmer stole the tool, valued at $199, at 7:34 a.m. Nov. 6.

Palmer, 33, was charged Nov. 15 with a second-degree misdemeanor count of retail theft. Online court records show Palmer has yet to respond to the charge.

Derry Township, Westmoreland County


State police charged Jeffrey Thomas, 57, of Latrobe, with driving under the influence (third offense) and driving under suspension, both misdemeanors, and eight summary traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop at 1:08 a.m. Nov. 28 on Route 982.

Troopers lodged a complaint Tuesday in Bradenville District Court.

Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County


Joshua Walker, of Kittanning, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday and opted to face adjudication in Armstrong County Common Pleas Court on accusations that he was intoxicated at the time of a traffic crash Nov. 22 on Margaret Road.

State police reported that Walker, 28, swerved his southbound vehicle to avoid a deer on the road at 9:10 p.m. and the vehicle hit some small trees.

Troopers charged Walker with DUI and two traffic offenses. Judge Kevin McCausland of Rural Valley District Court allowed Walker to remain free on unsecured bond to await his court appearance.
