An eastern Pennsylvania man under court supervision fled from a group that attended a movie presentation Monday afternoon at Indiana Mall, state police reported today.
Troopers in the region called for a search for Patrick Guyer, 22, of Dillsburg, York County, who last was seen at the Indiana Mall Cinemas about 3:05 p.m.
Guyer faces trial in York County for a misdemeanor count of making terroristic threats that originally was filed in July 2016 by a municipal police department.
Online court records show Guyer was ordered to stand trial for the charge but was sent to Torrance State Hospital in Derry Township, near Blairsville, in connection with a judge’s order granting a competency examination.
State police at Indiana said today that Guyer sneaked away from the theater while attending a film with a group from Torrance.
Hospital staff members first noticed Guyer missing and summoned state police, who scoured the area to no avail, according to a news release issued late this morning.
Investigators said Guyer is white, stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall and has hazel eyes and a thin build. He wears closely cut or shaved short brown hair, and last was seen wearing a red zipper-style hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
District Judge Jennifer Rega of Blairsville this morning issued an arrest warrant after troopers filed a second-degree misdemeanor count of escape against Guyer.
Anyone with information about Guyer is asked to dial 911, state police reported.
