Four area high school students have been cited with possession of marijuana that investigators said they smoked in an e-cigarette — on a school bus.
The Indiana Area Senior High School students passed the pen while riding back from Indiana County Technology Center at 2:40 p.m. Feb. 3, state police reported today.
Troopers withheld the names of the students — two 16-year-old boys, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl — and only listed their addresses as Indiana.
Possession of a small amount of pot for personal use is a third-degree misdemeanor, but one of only a few misdemeanor offenses that can be adjudicated at the district court level. Police said the kids smoked the weed on Hamill Road, putting the offense in the jurisdiction of the Clymer District Court. In the news release, police didn’t mention whether the charges might be filed through the juvenile probation office at the Indiana County Court House.
