A 46-year-old Indiana man was badly injured just before 1 a.m. Sunday when an all-terrain vehicle he was driving collided with a car driven by Mason Kerner, 28, of Indiana, on Route 954, according to reports.
State police said the ATV driver was sent first to Indiana Regional Medical Center by Citizen’s Ambulance Service then was transferred to a hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of injuries.
The ATV rider was suspected of driving under the influence, and police withheld his name pending the filing of charges.
Drivers Leslie Faidley, of Blairsville; Dana Faulkner-West, of Gettysburg; and Brilyn Elkin, of Punxsutawney, and the passengers in their vehicles escaped injury in a chain-reaction collision at 5:16 p.m. Saturday on the northbound lanes of Route 119 in the Coral area, according to a report.
State police said a Ford Focus driven by Faidley hit the rear of a Nissan Rogue driven by Faulkner-West, which then hit the back of a Ford F-150 driven by Elkin, who was stopped for a red light at Luciusboro Road.
State police reported McKenzie Watson, of Cherry Tree, was injured at 8:39 p.m. Friday when she leaped from a moving car on Kerr Road near Arcadia Road.
The driverless Chevrolet Cavalier veered off the road, went off Kerr Road, crashed through the exterior wall of a building and hit a boat inside.
Watson, 18, was sent by Hastings Area Ambulance to Conemaugh Miners Medical Center, Hastings, for treatment of unknown injuries, according to the report.
Investigators wrote that Watson would be cited for driving with faulty brakes.
North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County
Troopers at Kittanning reported a Chrysler 200 driven by Robert Heckman, of Cadogan, and a Kenworth Aero Cab driven by Ronald Brown, of Punxsutawney, collided at 4:14 p.m. Friday on Prospect Avenue near Streichif Road.
Heckman, 42, was treated at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital for an injury suffered in the crash.
