NUMINE — State police at Kittanning confirmed Saturday morning that the principal at West Shamokin Junior-Senior High School asked for an investigation about a reported threat to the football game between West Shamokin and Penns Manor on Friday night.

According to a Facebook post later apparently taken down by Armstrong School District officials but quoted in a Kittanning newspaper, the administration at West Shamokin received information that a student threatened to bring a gun to the Friday night football game.

The post said the student had been identified and removed from the school and that the state police were involved in the investigation. State police said there was no incident during Friday night’s game.
