On Tuesday state police at Indiana filed misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children by a parent or guardian and of recklessly endangering another person, as well as a summary count of disorderly conduct, against Amanda Kay Scalise, 31, of Clymer, after an investigation into an incident reported on March 7 at 11:25 a.m.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Scalise on May 14 before Clymer Magisterial District Judge Christopher S. Welch.
Hearing set on theft charge
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled on April 30 at 1 p.m. before Clymer Magisterial District Judge Christopher S. Welch for Elijah Huellen, 30, of Saxonburg, Butler County, on a misdemeanor count of theft by unlawful taking involving movable property.
A 28-year-old Marion Center-area woman told state police at Indiana that Huellen stole an Xbox One from her home on March 6 while she was at work. Troopers said Huellen was found to be in possession of that device three days later and was taken into custody by Cranberry Township police.
Derry township, Westmoreland county
A Derry woman was lodged in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond after her arraignment Thursday on a felony count of possession with intent to deliver, two misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled substances and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
State police at Greensburg took Veronica Simms, 51, into custody on March 11 at 1 p.m. on the basis of other warrants. Troopers said a search of 135 M and B Place based on a Westmoreland County drug warrant turned up approximately four bricks of suspected heroin, cut into 215 glassine packets labeled “Gorilla Glue,” as well as an ounce of marijuana and $1,690 in cash.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 11 before Bradenville Magisterial District Judge Mark J. Bilik.
State police at Greensburg said Ryan Lee Winkler, 22, of Latrobe, filed a false report of being robbed on March 24 at 4:09 p.m. Troopers said he acknowledged that upon a further interview and was taken into custody on a count of unsworn falsification to authorities.
He was placed in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing on Wednesday before Monessen Magisterial District Judge Joseph A. Dalfonso.
State police at Indiana filed three counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and three other charges of traffic violations against Austin John Cline, of Jeannette, following a traffic stop on Jan. 28 at 2:41 a.m. on Route 119 near the Indiana County Solid Waste Authority.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Cline, who turns 19 on Tuesday, for May 1 before Homer City Magisterial District Judge Suzanne V. Steffee.
Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County
State police at Kittanning filed two counts each of driving under the influence and of other traffic violations against Seth Dwightlee Dinsmore, 29, of Yatesboro, following a traffic stop on Feb. 26 at 9:53 p.m. on Route 85.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 8 before Rural Valley Magisterial District Judge Kevin Lee McCausland.
Washington Township, Westmoreland County
State police in the Kiski Valley filed two counts of driving under the influence and three other charges of traffic violations against Vivian Lea Ament, 66, of Johnstown, following a traffic stop March 24 at 10:35 p.m. along Route 66.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 4 before Washington Township Magisterial District Judge Jason Buczak.
