Trespassing

An Armstrong County man has been charged with trespassing on land near Shelocta while hunting just after noon Saturday.

Troopers at Indiana cited William Land II, of Apollo, with a summary count of criminal trespass and a traffic citation of trespass by motor vehicle, court records show.

Joseph Skursky, 72, told police that Land, 31, had parked a vehicle on his ground at 521 Line Road and gone hunting on his acreage without permission.

Clover Township, Jefferson County

Animal cruelty

State police reported someone fired three rounds from a shotgun at a horse along Mohney Road and wounded the animal with at least two shots.

Troopers from Punxsutawney said the horse was shot between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and asked anyone who knows about the gunfire to phone (814) 938-0510.

Vintondale, Cambria County

Car theft

Someone stole a red 2002 Ford Escort between 4 and 6 p.m. Nov. 2 from Griffith Street and wrecked it at 6:21 p.m. in Nanty Glo, state police at Ebensburg reported.

The driver fled after the car hit a house at 571 Second St., investigators said.

Police withheld the name of a 48-year-old woman who reported the car missing.
